Why use LBCP

The Leicestershire Building Control Partnership (LBCP) is a Local Authority Building Control service between six councils. Blaby District, Harborough District, Hinckley and Bosworth Borough, Melton Borough, Oadby and Wigston Borough and Rutland County have joined together to share their knowledge and experience.

Whether you're a homeowner, contractor or other professional, we'll work with you to ensure your building project is safe, accessible and meets the standards set by the Building Regulations.

By using Leicestershire Building Control Partnership, you will have access to a team of professional building surveyors and technical support staff. As a local authority, we can give fast local support to you anywhere. We regularly work with planners, conservation officers, access officers, fire services, highways and other organisations - anyone whose input your project requires.

We act as the point of contact for all the six local partner authorities. We're an independent second pair of eyes who can offer you reassurance that your project is on track.

Our service is ‘not-for-profit’ and we provide competitive fees. You will also be offered training and guidance, continuing professional development and access to training events to help up-skill members and customers.

Local authorities have unique powers under the Building Act 1984 to enforce the building regulations and have work that doesn’t comply altered or removed. By trusting us from the beginning, we make sure that all work is approved of by building control.

We also provide impartial help and advice direct to homeowners, agents and builders. We are always there for you, even when things get difficult or the unexpected happens - we know what pressures you're under.
